Solutions/Waterless urinals
Solution C · waterless urinals

Zero water per flush — and clean, odour-free operation.

Waterless urinals save every litre of flushing water. We supply the whole thing: the bowl, the cleaning chemistry, the valve, the installation and the service — set up so it does not smell.

A complete system

Not just the urinal — the whole operation

A waterless urinal only works with the right chemistry and maintenance. That is why we supply the whole system and look after it.

01

Urinal

A waterless bowl suitable for public and company washrooms.

02

Valve & chemistry

The membrane valve holds the odour back with no sealing liquid and no trap; the chemistry is for cleaning. How the valve works →

03

Installation

Professional installation, connected without any water supply.

04

Service

Regular maintenance to keep the system hygienic and working.

How it works

The membrane valve — this is why it does not smell

The commonest objection to waterless urinals is the smell. The answer is the valve: a flexible membrane lets liquid through downwards and closes again immediately behind it, so odour from the drain has no way out.

A section through the membrane valve of a waterless urinal: liquid passes downwards, the membrane closes behind it, only air passes through the upper cap
Section through the valve: liquid flows down through the centre (yellow) and the membrane closes right behind it. Only air and the scent from the replaceable cap (blue) pass through the upper part — odour from the drain does not get up.
  1. Flow

The liquid pushes the flexible membrane open and drains straight away.

  2. Closing

The membrane springs back on its own and seals the drain. No sealing liquid, no trap, no electricity.

  3. No deposits

A straight flow with no water trap — there is no place for deposits to build up and block it.

  4. Replacement

The cartridge is changed with no tools, in under a minute. The regular cleaning crew can handle it.

An exploded membrane valve: cap, cartridge, membrane, insert and body with seals
  • No sealing liquid, no trap, no electricity — nothing to top up, nothing to power, and nothing that fails in an outage.
  • No sensor — the valve is mechanical, so it works every time.
  • Retrofit — with an adapter it fits most common waterless urinals, so other brands that have stopped working can be revived without replacing the bowl.
  • The scent cap is part of the cartridge and is changed with it.
  • The manufacturer states a saving of up to 60,000 litres of water per valve over its service life — that is the supplier's figure; the saving for your building we calculate from actual footfall during the audit.
Hygiene, not perfume

Odour control is part of running the place

Any residual smell around waterless urinals comes from urine scale and bacteria on the ceramic and in the drain — not from the valve, provided the cartridge is changed on time. We deal with it at source with the right chemistry and maintenance, not by masking it. A clean washroom is a matter of hygiene.

Odour and air quality in washrooms we handle through a separate solution — always after the source has been removed, never instead of that.

Which sectors

Where it pays off

We select the supplier for each market and confirm it in the quotation. For this solution we are not tied to a single manufacturer — the supplier is chosen to suit the market and the building, and named in the quotation.

What you can evidence

Every litre of flushing water saved

A waterless urinal uses 0 l per use — an evidenced water saving for reporting and for certification.
